Miami in 3 Days: Miami Beach, Wynwood and Local Highlights
A practical three-day starting itinerary for first-time visitors, with beaches, art, neighborhoods and flexible travel time. Adjust the order around weather, opening days and your arrival or cruise schedule.
Day 1 — Miami Beach and South Beach
Morning: walk South Pointe Park and the waterfront, then enjoy the beach. Midday: explore Ocean Drive and the Art Deco streets around Lummus Park, with a stop at Muscle Beach or the volleyball courts. Afternoon: Lincoln Road and nearby cafés or shops. Evening: dinner in South Beach or Sunset Harbour. Walk or use the free local trolley; allow breaks for heat and rain.
Morning: head to Downtown and Museum Park; choose Pérez Art Museum Miami or Frost Science to suit your interests. Midday: explore the bayfront and take a short Metromover ride. Afternoon: travel to Wynwood for murals, galleries and neighborhood cafés; some attractions require tickets. Evening: dinner in Wynwood or Brickell. Use Metrobus 100 or rideshare from Miami Beach, then local transit or rideshare between districts.
Morning: visit Vizcaya Museum and Gardens if open on your chosen date. Midday: explore Coconut Grove, shaded streets and waterfront parks, then stop for lunch. Afternoon: continue to Coral Gables for architecture and Miracle Mile, or keep a slower pace in the Grove. Rideshare is practical between these districts. Reserve timed-entry attractions when required and leave a buffer for airport or cruise check-in.
